shore at 50 at sandy point. that is the latest on traffic pulse 11. >> a baltimore city woman is undergoing a psychiatric evaluation after police say she stabbed her daughter. >> department is facing some tough questions about safety. jennifer franciotti is live with more on the story. >> good morning. this unfolded around 10:00 yesterday morning inside the department of social services office. they handle foster care. it is the office on biddle street, where parents have supervised visits with their children. the baby's mother was visiting the child when she pulled out a kitchen knife and stabbed the child. the baby was taken to johns hopkins children's center. police say she is expected to survive. >> you have to go through a

metal detector. how did that happen? they were in protective custody. how did the child get stabbed? she is supposed to be protected. >> that woman lives in the neighborhood and saw some of the events unfold after the stabbing. ors insidemetal detective the building. the woman is undergoing a mental health evaluation. jennifer franciotti, wbal-tv 11 news. >> a police detective is suspended as please look into allegations he abused his police powers while looking for his own missing child. daniel nicholson is a veteran on the force. he is accused of conducting an unauthorized trade on a home last weekend. baltimore county police were handling the case of a missing

testify. two more employees with the secret service resigned yesterday. police are looking for a gunman after a woman was shot in the parking lot of the trade school. the woman was rushed to the hospital. her condition is not being released. police are not releasing a possible motive for the shooting. motion to dismiss all charges against a private. the defense says prosecutors have been slow in sharing required information. the only remedy is to throw out the charges. this involves private bradley manning and wikileaks. >> federal officials are trying to ease concerns over mad cow disease.

building. the stabbing happened about 10:00 yesterday morning. they handle foster care. >> a whole bunch of police and an ambulance. >> people were running. people were coming out screaming. >> police and paramedics scrambled when called after the baby was stabbed. >> they brought the baby out on the structure. >> one of the workers had a bunch of blood on his leg. >> this office is where biological parents have supervised visits with their children in foster care. >> at some point the mother became irate, pulled out a kitchen knife and began stabbing the baby. >> the baby was rushed to johns hopkins children's center. her mother is in custody. an investigation is underway to find out how the mother got in with the kitchen knife. >> how can somebody get in
